Professor Ertan Erel

Professor Ertan Erel is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon based in London, where he works in private practice with a special focus on rhinoplasty, body contouring, aesthetic facial surgery, breast surgery and skin procedures. He previously served as a full-time NHS Consultant at University Hospitals of North Midlands until April 2023. His NHS specialist interests included breast reconstruction, complex septorhinoplasty, skin cancer surgery and microsurgical breast reconstruction. In private practice, his expertise extends to post-weight loss body contouring and mommy makeover procedures, helping patients address changes following significant weight loss, pregnancy and childbirth. Mr Erel graduated from Aegean University in Izmir, Turkey, before moving to the UK to continue his surgical training. He completed junior surgical training in East Yorkshire, undertook research in plastic surgery at University College London and was awarded a Master of Science degree. He later completed specialist plastic surgery training in the West Midlands and gained the Intercollegiate Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery, FRCS (Plast). Professor Erel has built a strong academic and research profile alongside his clinical practice. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, presented at national and international meetings, contributed to plastic surgery literature and remains actively engaged with professional surgical societies, including BAPRAS and Turkish plastic surgery associations.
