At Right Choice, aftercare is part of safe surgery. It is not an optional extra bolted on at the end of a quote.
Before you travel
We prepare you with written guidance tailored to your procedure: what to pack, medication schedules, activity restrictions, and warning signs that warrant immediate contact.
You will know your UK coordinator's direct contact details and how to reach us outside office hours for urgent concerns. We also liaise with your treating team abroad so everyone understands your return date and follow-up plan.
Your UK coordinator
You have a single point of contact in Britain throughout recovery. They answer questions, coordinate with your surgeon's team abroad, and help arrange local follow-up where appropriate - for example wound checks, physiotherapy referrals, or GP letters.
This continuity matters. Patients should not be left navigating language barriers or conflicting advice alone in the first weeks after surgery.
What good aftercare includes
- Clear written recovery instructions and realistic timelines.
- Access to clinical advice when you are unsure whether symptoms are normal.
- Coordination with your treating surgeon on complications or revision needs.
- Help arranging UK-based reviews when a physical examination is needed.
- Documentation for your GP or insurer where relevant.
When to seek help
Some swelling, bruising, and discomfort are expected after most procedures. Your recovery pack explains what is typical day by day. Contact us promptly if you experience symptoms outside that range - sudden pain, fever, unusual discharge, breathing difficulty, or anything that simply does not feel right.
Early communication prevents small issues from becoming serious ones. We would rather you call with a question that turns out to be normal than wait too long on something that needs attention.
